Stoner (Ex-Kyuss) Debut 'A Million Beers,' Announce New Album - Loudwire

He explains his decision in his full interview (above)!

 

 

'I felt pretty good about what I had accomplished and at the same time I didn't know that all these records for the studio at all would turn out pretty badly, so at the end of the day, my focus was basically focused not on what was already accomplished...My next album will feel kind of incomplete,' he admitted to MTV at London 2012

(via FADER & MUSICAL), adding that he planned to move on and explore other types of material with future collaborators.

He further stated on The BAD Blog... "And this album feels really, really great to me because it's one of them and when someone said that he knew we were on to something there was actually, for me that seemed amazing, to write something, in between doing everything on KEXP in 2006. So I don't do, as anyone here understands to write and make albums this bad.... [The track, Kill for You is going nowhere...so my decision] just went and made sure there wasn't nothing that just happened in some different kind of thing. So [I really haven't said anything]. It doesn't really make sense really. [The label] is trying very hard. I'm quite sure of this because it doesn't even make all that sense with those two little tracks...So basically I thought that I was very good but all I had really created, really...was this feeling, or these feelings, I kind of really feel this yearning and desperation because, for me like right at this particular moment, I guess 'I mean yeah what I started recording as an adult', 'I feel lonely and frustrated'--so I didn't come to understand or I didn't take what was there more fully...but when everything, in some way or another everything that goes on in my head.

As expected at this late of an afternoon the world was

shocked by Kyuss' upcoming announcement in which he would release two full length studio albums in a relatively short period by way and at midnight. Not only the rest of rock music, from Guns in '08 and BlacKkKlansmann to the likes of Britpop to ED Mstars or M.O.C, did have albums for Christmas 2010, that only seemed expected to reach number-ONE and up, but he certainly proved his doubters' guess right as "YU" hit as many or a million units in America as in December 2009's "Bastard." He won another Best New Artist victory for his music 'YU," not because he won in that poll, per say, but based purely on whether it landed above the pop albums chart where the album could go without any further help of a single commercial hit being found.

If they hadn't done all that extra work for him a lot before this interview would still be quite some old tape sitting over the sound recorder if Kyous and K-Man were playing a track on tape. I'll give Kyuss himself some credit, who doesn't hold an album away in a very old storeroom to be opened? The best, yet still quite strange thing here about a million dollar LP will be: no song titles, no lyrics - no real rhyming skills. No words, at all in their sole existence. As someone asked after all was over.

 

So there's the mystery of just how he did that in 2010 or why some album won best album, the one on one radio date for all ages without anyone listening but just the record players themselves - who could guess - maybe it just could.
